Yozgat Bozok University was established on 01 March 2006 with Law No. 5467. With the founding law, Faculty of Science and Letters, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Agriculture, Health School, Vocational School and Cumhuriyet University within the body of Erciyes University, Akdağmadeni Vocational School were connected to Yozgat Bozok University. In addition, Institutes of Science and Social Sciences were established.

Erdoğan Akdağ Campus is located on an area of ​​4,100 decares at the 7th km of Atatürk Road in Yozgat Center.
