The university of Bolu Abant Izzat baysal is located in the Bolu region, in the north west of Turkey. This region sits between two metropolitan areas of the country, Istanbul and Ankara. The main campus of the university, known as the Izzat Baysal campus, is situated outside the city of Bolu, in the green, forested and beautiful areas of northwestern Turkey. The university has four campuses, one of which is located in the center of Bolu city and others in various districts around the city.

The Bolu Abant university is not a private institution, but it’s not %100 government funded either. This is a state university that is funded and supported by the Izzat Baysal foundation.

This university consists of 17 faculties, 1 school, 8 vocational schools and 19 research centers with about 2500 staff, doing their utmost to make this university the fastest growing university in the nation. With around thirty thousand students studying at the university, Bolu Abant university is one of the biggest universities in Turkey. This university was founded at 1992 by Izzat Baysal and is among the young and rapidly growing universities of Turkey.

There are also 4 outdoor sports facilities for basketball, tennis and football. Besides, there are about 10 teams that prospective students in each field can be a part of and compete with other students and universities.

The BAIB university offers many opportunities for social and cultural events in the two main cultural halls of the university, the blue hall and the pink hall.

Admissions and application requirements

Like many other Turkish higher education institutions, BAIB requires YOS or any other type of international examination result. But this year, 2021-2022, due to COVID-19, examinations are not required. Students also need to check the program website for the language requirements, since some programs are English and Turkish taught and some are just Turkish. Students without any language proficiency test results will need to take language courses at the university. The tuition fees vary according to the program and students must check the program website for further information.

• High school diploma: The original diploma (a photocopy) and its approved translation
• Diploma Equivalency Certificate: The original Certificate of Equivalence which certifies that candidate’s high school diploma is accepted by Turkish authorities. It will be received from the Turkish Representation or from the Turkish Republic Ministry of National Education
• The original transcript and its approved translation,
• Photocopy of the passport/ID card (Its approved translation must be provided if it is not in Turkish or English)
